Instructions
- Cook the rice.
- Peel and chop the garlic and ginger with the chili.
- Put a steamer basket in a pot, add water, bring to a boil.
- Cut the broccoli into florets.
- Steam broccoli for 3 minutes, then cool in ice water.
- Save 1 cup of green steamer water if desired.
- Heat a pan with oil, garlic, ginger, and chili.
- Add water, soy sauce, sugar, mustard, Marmite, sesame oil, onion powder, and pepper.
- Dissolve cornstarch in water to make a slurry.
- Thicken the sauce with the slurry.
- Adjust sauce seasoning.
- Coat broccoli in sauce.
- Serve broccoli over rice, garnish with sesame seeds.
