Crispy Chickpeas

Ingredients

  • 1 can chickpeas
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • salt
  • barbecue spice mix (optional)
  • kimchi powder (optional)
  • barbecue sauce (optional)
  • cilantro (optional)
  • red onions (optional)
  • sour cream (optional)
  • shredded cheddar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Drain and rinse the chickpeas.
  2. Spread the chickpeas on a microwave-safe plate and microwave them for 5 minutes.
  3. Heat a pan over medium-high heat and add the oil.
  4. Add the microwaved chickpeas to the pan and cook until crispy, stirring occasionally.
  5. Season the chickpeas with salt and your choice of spices (barbecue spice mix or kimchi powder).
  6. Optional: Add barbecue sauce and toss to coat the chickpeas.
  7. Optional: Garnish with cilantro, red onions, sour cream, or shredded cheddar.

Notes

Microwaving the chickpeas first makes them crispier with less cooking time.
