Homemade Pizza Dough

Ingredients

  • 473 mL lukewarm water
  • 2 teaspoons dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 500 g bread flour
  • olive oil
  • pepper
  • garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Combine the water, sugar and yeast in a mixing bowl and let bloom 5 minutes.
  2. Put in the salt and as much flour as you can stir in with a wooden spoon.
  3. Cover and let sit 15 minutes for the flour to hydrate.
  4. Stir a little more flour in with the spoon.
  5. Let rise until doubled, 2 hours.
  6. Punch the dough down and fold it over on itself a few times.
  7. Split the dough into two balls, and put one of the balls in a different bowl.
  8. Oil both dough balls, cover and let rise in the refrigerator, 1-7 days.
  9. Preheat a pizza stone or steel in your oven at maximum temperature.
  10. Gently flip the dough ball upside down to reveal its bubbly bottom.
  11. Put more olive oil on the surface and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  12. Transfer the dough directly from the bowl to the baking surface.
  13. Bake until the garlic powder just starts to turn golden, about 10 minutes.
