Instructions
- Prepare vegetables (onion, green chili, garlic, tomato).
- Grate tomato, drain excess liquid.
- Blend onion, green chili, garlic finely.
- Mix onion, chili, garlic with meat, add tomato, spices (salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, nutmeg), and mix well.
- Let the mixture rest for 30 minutes covered.
Stuffing
- Heat the pitta bread in the microwave to soften.
- Slice the pitta bread open to create a pocket.
- Stuff pitta bread with the meat mixture and shape it evenly within the bread pocket.
- Brush pitta bread with vegetable oil on both sides to help with browning and heat absorption.
- Bake at 200°C for 45 minutes or pan-fry until well cooked and browned on both sides.
- Serve the hot stuffed pitas with salty pickles and fries.
Notes
You can use regular pitta bread if traditional Egyptian bread is not available.
Be cautious when adding stretchy cheese to the filling, as it can be dangerous if not cooked properly.
