- Cumin seeds to be crushed
Instructions
- Keep warm water in a bowl and add sugar, dry yeast, and salt. Mix well. Then add flour and knead the dough.
- Ensure the dough is neither too soft nor too hard.
- Cover and let the dough rest for about 20 minutes.
- After resting, roll out the dough using flour to prevent sticking.
- Fold the dough and seal the edges.
- Brush melted butter over the dough.
- With a knife, gently cut the dough into slices.
- Dice the onions finely and mix with the meat or vegetables. Season with salt, pepper, and crushed cumin seeds.
- Place a tablespoon of the filling mixture on the dough.
- Roll the dough into triangles, sealing the edges.
- Preheat oven to 200°C.
- Brush the Samsas with beaten egg for an egg wash.
- Bake the Samsas for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
Samsas are traditional Uzbek pastries filled with meat or vegetables.
Adjust seasoning and filling according to personal preference.
